Texas 83rd Legislative Session Update: HB 286
C.S.H.B 286 is seeking to amend the Texas Medical Board’s complaint filing process. The bill was filed in December of 2012, and is currently being passed around and considered in public meetings and committees. Under the current procedures, if a complaint is filed against a physician the Texas Medical Board will notify them only of the nature of the complaint. This results in the physician often submitting unrelated documents. This bill would require the Board to inform the physician of the particular allegations of the complaint. This bill would take effect on September 1st of 2013.
